Absorption chilling has been commercially available in the UK for a number of years, lots of people will be aware of Lithium bromide chillers which operate in large office buildings and are ideal for temperatures above +5°C, so ideally suitable for air conditioning, unfortunately, most chill and cold store facilities require temperatures significantly lower than that, so lithium bromide chillers have been unsuitable for some industries. This problem has been overcome using ammonia suspended in water solution. As a rule of thumb, the warmer the heat source than the colder the temperature that can be achieved. From +5°c to -45°c.
Our chillers have no compressor, simply one small circulation pump, it is therefore entirely possible to have for instance a 350kw refrigeration plant using as much power as it would take to run a domestic kettle. In turn reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs. There is no need for a plant room to contain any of this equipment, it can all sit outside and uses only 10% of the power that conventional vapour compression systems consume.
The absorption chillers can be installed in trigeneration plants if applicable and will work from waste heat from CHP, Biomass or simply from exhaust heat from flues/chimneys.

4. Low maintenance – Being an ‘oil free’ system with only one pump, maintenance is reduced, helping companies to significantly reduce the plant management costs. Moreover, thanks to our Telematik® system, absorption chillers are monitored via Telemetry. We are constantly checking all the systems parameters 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
5. Ecological – Ammonia is a gas naturally present in nature that does not pollute. It’s the best refrigerant available on the market with a zero GWP.
Our highly technologic and advanced systems are allowing us to use it with really low charges with an environmental impact equal to zero.
